Democratic Rep. Gabe Vasquez Used the "N-Word" Against Former Work Colleague Among Other Uncovered Offenses According to Police Reports

RPNM Calls on the Congressman to Resign

MAY 30â€”Today, shocking revelations about New Mexico Democratic Representative Gabe Vasquez's past have surfaced in uncovered police reports that detail hisÂ use of the "N-word"Â to harass a former work colleague after his termination from his job due toÂ falsifying data,Â domestic disturbancesÂ betweenÂ him and his former girlfriend, and attempting to evade law enforcement byÂ flushing his marijuanaÂ down the toilette which was illegal to possess at the time. This is in addition to the news that surfaced this week that the congressman had anÂ arrest warrant executedÂ against him in El Paso, TX in March of this year for failing to appear in court several times on charges of driving without insurance or license and disregarding a traffic control device.

These records were attained through a public records request with the city of Las Cruces by theÂ Washington Free Beacon, seeking documents that included Vasquez's name and date of birth.

"Rep. Gabe Vasquez's pattern of unacceptable behaviorâ€”using the â€˜N-word' to harass his former work colleague, falsifying data, trying to evade police, displaying apparent anger issues, and repeatedly refusing to appear in court to address his chargesâ€”points to one conclusion: Rep. Vasquez does not possess the character worthy of a New Mexico Representative,"Â said Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman Steve Pearce.

"Rep. Vasquez should apologize for his indefensible actions and resign from Congress. If he refuses, New Mexicans have the power to hold him accountable in November by casting their vote for Yvette Herrell."
