Margaret Strange, 77, a resident of Cliff, NM entered eternal rest Saturday, November 2, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on October 8, 1947 to her parents, Bill and Mary (Bernard) Neish in Raton, New Mexico.
She grew up in Raton and spent her summers on Johnson Mesa, where her family raised cattle. She moved to Silver City, New Mexico in 1966 to attend Western New Mexico University.
Margaret was known for her kindness to everyone around her. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. She enjoyed watching their activities, whether it be motocross, t-ball, rodeo or basketball. She was their number one fan. They enjoyed her baskets of goodies she would bake for them for nearly every holiday.
She began employment with Western New Mexico Telephone Company as a Customer Service Representative in 1986 and retired 28 years later. She grew to adore many of her customers and Co-workers over the years. She spent many years as a 4-H leader. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, David of the family home; her son, Marvin Strange (Jamie) of Cliff; and her daughter, Charlene Webb (Kory) of Cliff; her four grandchildren, Byron Hardin, Courtney Hardin, Clayton Strange and Spencer Strange; two bonus grandchildren, Korlynn Turner (Clint) and Kegan Webb (Kayla); one sister Norma McGee and her husband Pat of Ft. Collins, Colorado; and one brother, Bill Neish (Donna) of Estancia, New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Jane Chumbley.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 1:00 to 2:00 pm at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Cliff, NM. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with Pastor David Goble officiating. She will be laid to rest at Gila/Mesa Cemetery following the service. Pallbearers are Rusty McCauley, Robert McCauley, Billy Ray McCauley, Leroy Clark, Clifton Knight and Byron Hardin. Honorary pallbearers are Freddie Martin, Floyd Clark, David Norris, Marvin Kartchner, Paul Dean Kartchner, Jerrell Shelley, James Galindo and all our friends and neighbors.
