Albuquerque – ?New Mexico Senator Martin Heinrich, who recently ?expressed strong support ?for Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign, is staying silent on her position to ban fracking. During her short-lived campaign for President in 2019, ?Harris proudly ?declared, “There’s no question I’m in favor of banning fracking.” Despite the fact such a position would rob $11.3 billion from New Mexico’s economy, put over 100,000 out of work, and cause energy prices to skyrocket.
“We know Martin Heinrich will do whatever his rich donors demand, but when New Mexicans want answers his silence is deafening,” said Larry Behrens, Communications Director for Power The Future. “The state’s energy industry delivers the billions that fund teachers, police officers, and every state program; so to watch Martin Heinrich cheer as his presumptive nominee wants to ban fracking is sickening.
