Corina Juanita Rivera, 84, of Silver City passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at Genesis Silver City Care Center.
A Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at twelve, noon on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at Saint Francis Newman Center in Silver City. The Funeral Mass will take place at twelve-thirty. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Fort Bayard National Cemetery. Father Ephraim Ezulike will officiate.

Marie Fisher Alvarado, 68, of Santa Clara passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2024 in Houston, TX. Arrangements are pending under the care of Baca's Funeral Chapels.

Aidee Veronica Veloz, 52, of Silver City, passed away November 18, 2024 at Gila Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family.
Visitation for Aidee will be from 9 to 10 am on Friday, November 22, 2024 at Baca's Funeral Chapels. The Funeral Service will follow at 10 am. At Aidee's request, cremation will follow.
Aidee was born September 16, 1972 in Chihuahua, Mexico to Eduardo Veloz and Rosa McDaniel. She was an outgoing, loving person who always put her family and friends first. She was also an avid Dodgers fan who got to see them win the World Series. Aidee had worked as a driver at Freeport- McMoran. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by three sons, Guy Gomez, Thomas Gomez and David Gomez, Jr.; three daughters, Jasmine Gomez, Ernestine Waldrop, and Amy Madrid; her mother, Rosa McDaniel and her father, Eduardo Veloz; four brothers, Caesar Villanueva, Jose Hurtado, Cristin Veloz, and Eduardo Veloz; and one sister, Xochitl Villanueva; also surviving Aidee are 17 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Norma Veloz.

Allan Bailey Swaggerty was born to John David and Ruby K. Swaggerty on September 8, 1959 in Toledo, Ohio. Allan was the youngest of four children, Nancy, David and Jane.
Allan was raised by his single mother, Ruby and older sister Nancy. Allan was preceded in death by his sister Jane in 2022, Mother in 1992 and Father in 1960. Being born to a family in the late 50's, he developed a life-long love for many genres of music spanning from the 50's to the 70's. Allan was extremely nostalgic and had an amazing memory for dates, birthdays, anniversaries and many moments in history. Allan attended Carson Long Military Academy during his later high school years in Missouri. Upon graduation, he entered the Army and served his country for 15 years. He served in Missouri, Massachusetts, Germany and in Saudi Arabia during the Persian Gulf War, ending his career in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Allan married Lana Criswell while stationed in Puerto Rico and they moved to Juneau, Alaska for a seven-year adventure. They were blessed with Andrew Swaggerty in 1998. The Swaggerty's Three moved to Silver City, NM in 2000 to operate Silver Pest Control.
Antonio Martin Arroyo Ramirez, 59, Deming resident passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2024 in Palomas, Chihuahua.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at 4 o'clock in the afternoon at Baca's Funeral Chapel with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary to be recited at 6. The Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at 11 o'clock in the morning at St. Ann's Catholic Church with the rite of committal and internment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Fr. Tom Smith will be officiating.
Antonio was born to Guadalupe Ramirez and Santos Arroyo in Sain Alto, Zacatecas. He enjoyed listening to music, having good conversations with his friends in "La Plaza" and spending time with his family.
Justina "Justa" Ortiz Norero passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at La Posada Assisted Living Mesilla Valley Hospice, Las Cruces, NM where she was a resident for two and one-half months. She was 98 years old, born on September 24, 1926 to Melquiades Roybal and Rosario Villalovos Ortiz and raised in San Lorenzo, NM in the Mimbres Valley. She resided in the original Norero homestead ranch with her husband and children in the village of San Juan in the Mimbres Valley until 2011 when she needed help and could no longer live alone. She went to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Larry, in Las Cruces where they cared for her until her health deteriorated and required more intense 24-hour medical care.
Justa was married for 64 years to Carlos "Charlie" J. Norero, who preceded her in death. She was a hard-working farmer, rancher and housewife. Besides her home duties and raising her family she had a menagerie of animals she loved to tend including chickens, turkeys, guinea hens, ducks, peacocks and rabbits. She also helped with the butchering of cattle, sheep and hogs and picking and selling a variety of fruit from their orchards. There was never a lack of food in the Norero household.
Susan V. Brinkley, 85, of Arenas Valley passed away Thursday, November 14, 2024 at Genesis Silver City Care Center. Arrangements are pending under the care of Baca's Funeral Chapels.
