Dolores M. Garcia, 87, of Santa Clara passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at Genesis Silver City Care Center. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Baca's Funeral Chapels.

Luisa Montaño Quarrell, 92 years of age, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Fort Bayard Medical Center in Santa Clara, NM. She was born August 19, 1932, to Eusebio and Maria Montaño in Deming, NM.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eusebio, and Maria; her brothers, Anthony, Manny, and Ralph Montaño; her sister, Lola Valverde, and her son, Mike A. Quarrell. Luisa is survived by her sons, Eddie, Danny (Bernadette) and Frankie (Betty) Quarrell all of Silver City, NM; her younger brother, Victor "Chapo" Montaño of Deming, NM and her baby sister, Annie (Freddie) Camuñez of Concord, CA and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family members.

Luisa was very proud of the fact that at 54 years of age, she graduated with a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Western New Mexico University in May of 1987. She was employed, until her retirement, with the Cobre Consolidated Schools as a school social worker within their Special Education Department.

A Félix le sobreviven su madre, Carmen Noverón; su amada esposa, Saturnina Evangelista; 4 hijos, Felipe Evangelista, Alberto (Laura) Evangelista, Misael (Ismerari) Evangelista e Iván Evangelista; 3 hijas, María Evangelista (Johnny Quiroga), Ana Evangelista y Carmen Evangelista (Josué Montes); varios nietos y bisnietos; 4 hermanos, Gilberto (Rosa), Erasto (Saturnina), Nicomedes y Serapia Evangelista.

Wayne Gene Ebaugh, 89, a Marine Corp Veteran and resident of Mimbres, NM entered eternal rest Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at his residence. He was born on February 21, 1935 to his parents, James Oscar and Margaret (Carmen) Ebaugh in Baltimore, Maryland.

Rito Escareño Salazar, 68, longtime Deming resident entered eternal rest on Friday, December 27, 2024 in El Paso, TX.

A viewing will be held Monday, January 6, 2025 from 4 to 6 o'clock in the evening at Baca's Funeral Chapel. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will then be recited at 6 which will be led by Elizabeth Dominguez. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at 11 o'clock in the morning at St. Ann's Catholic Church. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Fr. Tom Smith will be officiating.

Rito was born November 27, 1956 in Villa Nueva, Zacatecas, Mexico to Francisco Escareño Mendoza and Maria Salazar Acosta. Rito worked as farm laborer for many years to provide for his family. He was a very hard worker and excelled in many duties. He was a handyman and could build or fix just about anything. Rito was a very helpful man to many and was always available to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed being outdoors and was very fond in watching rodeos as well as being part of them as well. Rito also loved listening to music which brought him much joy. He was also a very funny man and always enjoyed joking around with others. Besides being a jokester, he was a very witty and smart man as well. Rito was a religious man and was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church. But what he was best known for was being a good father to his children and being the protector to all his family.
