"This is one of the biggest scandals of my adult life. Now we know that Biden's inner circle deliberately misled the American people in an election year about the incumbent president's ability to serve a second term.
We also know that journalists were far too passive, at best, in reporting revelations that Americans needed to know before the election." — Nicole Russell, USA Today, April 6, 2025

When people are questioned if they thought Donald Trump was a Nazi and shouldn't be reelected, they might reply "Of course, I hear it every day on the evening news."
When asked about Joe Biden's deteriorating mental condition, the answer is often "I didn't know President Biden was suffering from some kind mental problem. First I've heard about it."
Both responses are evidence of a contrived scam, perpetrated by scheming political hacks in league with a sympathetic media.
After only three months into his Presidency, members of a previously biased Trump press are beginning to realize the error of their ways. Trump's not the slithering snake oil salesman we've been led to believe, and Biden really wasn't as "sharp" as we were told.
Actually, he was barely functioning at all.
Fortunately, more rational columnists are recognizing the disparity.
Now that former President Joe Biden's officially a member of the PRC — President's Retirement Club — news reporters and authors are finally admitting a not-so-secret opinion: "I think we suspected Joe's brain was malfunctioning, but didn't want to alarm the public. They might have not voted the right way in 2024" goes the rationalization.
Or something similar.
Only the public had already figured it out. Anyone listening or viewing a Biden press conference the past few years could easily see Joe's awareness and ability to communicate was not in sync with glowing reports from ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC, The New York Times and other news sources.
Clearly, there were misfires in his presentations, becoming more prominent as his time in office progressed. Last summer's Presidential Debate with Donald Trump provided conclusive proof Joe didn't appear to be in the same room or comprehend the questions.
Shortly after, the Democrat National Committee removed Biden, and inserted VP Kamala Harris as their official 2024 candidate. A move born from desperation, more than qualification.
Yet Dems, and a complicit press, continued to push the narrative Joe was perfectly alright, mentally astute as ever, and knew exactly what he was doing.
In fact, he often couldn't find his way from the speaker's podium, wandered off topic, or slurred his words. Such mix-ups were simply not mentioned or excused as inconsequential mishaps. Nothing to worry about.
Sort of "Joe's got a lot on his plate. Sometimes he confuses things, or forgets what country he's visiting, but that's just stress of the job" type excuses.
Author and former CBS News "60 Minutes" producer Chris Whipple remarked "I happen to think that to call it a 'cover-up' is simplistic. I think it was stranger and way more troubling than that. Biden's inner circle, his closest advisers, many of them were in a fog of delusion and denial. They believed what they wanted to believe." — "Fight of His Life," Chris Whipple, PBS NewsHour, Jan. 18, 2023.
(Readers may recall Biden spent much of his 2020 campaign at home, limiting his public speaking to a few select engagements — the "No Malarkey Tour" he called it. COVID was his excuse.)
Whipple was also quoted on National Public Radio/NPR that "He (Biden) was absolutely exhausted. He was unable really to follow what was happening in the campaign. He was tuned out. Early on, he walked out of a [debate preparation] session in the Aspen Lodge, the president's cabin, went over to the pool, sank into a lounge chair, and just fell sound asleep." — NPR, April 8, 2025.
Stuff happens, we can all agree, but when the President of the United States seems to be continually befuddled or has to read from teleprompters and cue cards before answering ordinary questions, then most of us would probably suspect something isn't quite right. That, for whatever reasons, the train has left Joe waiting at the station — wondering where the train is?
Joe Biden has always been a brash guy, challenging people and spewing comments that really didn't make much sense, other than they were sure to lure the press into following him around to report what gaffes he would come up with next.
Admittedly, he succeeded in making a 50-year Washington career of it, so we'll have to give him credit for that. He might not have had a clue what he was talking about, but he gradually honed his b.s. skills sufficiently enough to evolve from Delaware's junior U.S. Senator to President without having significant achievements to show for it.
Other than, for some unexplained reason, President Barack Obama chose him to be his Vice President; a prelude of Joe picking Kamala Harris for his.
Unfortunately, by the time his turn to serve in the White House arrived, Joe was noticeably declining in mental acuity. His staff and the media continued to downplay, excuse and cover up the deterioration until a point the illness could no longer be disguised.
Major cracks in his ability to function were frequently exposed during his final few months in office, particularly after the Presidential Debate.
Currently, it's being revealed Joe wasn't capable of signing official legislative documents or executive orders without the assistance of an Autopen device — a machine designed to mimic and reproduce a person's signature.
Reportedly, VP Kamala was judge shopping to make sure one was available to administer the Presidential Oath of Office — in case Joe was suddenly incapacitated or died and she had to step into his shoes.
In Washington, I wouldn't think it would be a problem to find a judge, or someone of similar capacity, to conduct an official swearing in ceremony.
Which would indicate Joe's Presidential duties were being performed by someone else. Except, maybe, Kamala.
Interestingly, the Constitution does not specifically require a particular person administer the Presidential Oath of Office, nor the presence of any book or Bible. President John Quincy Adams used a law book, and Teddy Roosevelt did not use any book or Bible. President Donald Trump also did not place his hand on the Bible when he was sworn in Jan. 20, 2025.
Article II, Sec. 1, Clause 8 mandates the President swears (or affirms) that he will faithfully execute the office of the President and preserve and defend the Constitution. That's the only requirement.
Obviously, maintaining that stipulation isn't as easy as it sounds.
The 29th President, Calvin Coolidge, was sworn in by his father, Calvin Coolidge Sr., a notary public.
Vice President Lyndon. B. Johnson was administered the oath aboard Air Force One on Nov. 22,1963 before it flew back to Washington following the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in Dallas, Texas. Local federal judge Sarah T. Hughes, ushered on board to perform the ceremony, has been the only woman to administer a Presidential Oath.
Even the events surrounding Johnson's swearing in is a story in itself.
