The Silver City Museum's newest exhibit captures their groundbreaking contributions as practitioners of traditional, folk, and spiritual medicine, their pivotal role in establishing health care systems, their adaptability in the face of frontier challenges, and their advocacy for access to equitable health care.
This exhibit runs through 2025. A $5 donation is suggested.
The exhibit will be enriched by the museum's Community Conversation series, which will kick off in March 2025.

EXHIBIT SCHEDULE UPDATES Nuestra Voz | Stay Tuned!
We’re thrilled about the upcoming transformation of the "Nuestra Voz" exhibit into a permanent installation on our second floor. While we had initially planned to open the exhibit on December 31 with a formal celebration and programming on January 25, we’re taking a little extra time to ensure everything is just right.
This additional time allows us to refine the exhibit’s design and presentation, ensuring it meets the high standards our visitors deserve. While we work through these final details, we’ll be sharing updates on the new opening date and related programming as soon as they’re confirmed.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support as we bring this exciting vision to life!

Pioneer Doctor: The Story of a Woman's Work is based on the true story of Dr. Mary "Mollie" Babcock Atwater, a medicine woman who found freedom and opportunity in the wide-open spaces of America's frontier west. This book is not just a beautifully written and thoroughly researched story of a fascinating woman's life, it is also the story of an era when daring women ventured forth and changed history for the rest of us. Creatively retold by Mollie's granddaughter, award-winning author Mari Graña, this novel blends historical records alongside interviews with family and friends to reconstruct Mollie's steps into a dramatic narrative that brings to life the doctor's struggles, her accomplishments, and the times in which she lived.
Looking for a meaningful way to get involved in the community? The Silver City Museum is currently seeking enthusiastic front-of-house volunteers to help us welcome visitors and create an exceptional museum experience.
Whether you’re a history buff, a people person, or just passionate about supporting local culture, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a difference.
