Dear Editor,
SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT

Just 2 of many examples of Gabby NOT doing her homework in regards to Representative Terrazas' voting record.

HB 92 (2021 regular session)

Gabby claims Representative Terrazas doesn't support clean water by voting no to this legislation.
•TRUTH: This bill would have increased all of our water bills.Even the Governor vetoed this passed legislation. Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham explained in her veto, this was "too onerous on New Mexicans…an increased fee for drinking water is not warranted at this time."

HB 232 (2021 regular session)Gabby claims Representative Terrazas doesn't want clean air by voting no to this legislation.
•TRUTH: This bill would have cost the schools anywhere from $500,000 – $5 Million.Unfunded mandates suffocate our schools. A sitting school board President should know this.Mr. Hawkins, superintendent of Silver Schools, texted Representative Terrazas this, "If this bill is going to be enacted, this will be a significant financial obligation for schools. I don't know of any other industry that currently has regulatory language regarding heating and air quality like schools as a result of covid, with the exception of hospitals."

Even without this bill passing, Mr. Hawkins said this, "we had to install Merv 13 filters that are regularly replaced; we also have a requirement of a specific percentage of air ventilation coming into our classrooms and in our buildings as well."

Thank you, Representative Terrazas ,for voting "NO" to bad legislation which affect our pocketbooks and school budgets.
