“Sufism 101: An Introduction and Invitation”

Download as iCal file

Sunday, July 23, 2017, 10:00am - 11:00am

This Sunday is also a Family Program Service. Katherine Feist is a licensed social worker, an ordained minister, and a senior teacher in the Inayati Order. She has served as an educator in both pre-school and university and worked as a developmental social worker with families and children with disabilities. As a long-time meditation practitioner and spiritual teacher, this UU service will reflect Katherine's personal mission of conveying love, harmony and beauty in our everyday work. Join her for an introduction to Sufism, sharing stories and practices.
The Family Program service will include a “Story for All Ages” a traditional practice of using stories to bring to life UU Principles for the entire congregation. Young members are invited to participate in the service, ringing the bell to begin service or assisting to light the Chalice; and for the youngest ones, there are activity bags containing coloring sheets, wikki stix, and other items to help pass the time during service. Youngsters will also be able to participate in fun activities teaching them UU principles. There will be coffee and conversation after the service, and visitors are always welcome.
