GLENWOOD, NM, Oct. 15, 2024 – The USDA Forest Service will resume construction activities at Mineral Creek tailings pile site in mid-October 2024. The site is located within the Mogollon Mining District, near the community of Alma, New Mexico on the Glenwood Ranger District of the Gila National Forest.

The site is located off of Mineral Creek Road, approximately 4 miles east of Alma, NM. Mineral Creek Road will remain open during construction activities. Members of the public should be aware of their surroundings and drive carefully in the area, as heavy eqauipment may be on the road. The project is estimated to be completed by the end of December 2024. For more information about this project, please contact Hailey Stock, Assistant Regional Environmental Engineer, at
