SILVER CITY, NM — The Silver City MainStreet Project and Silco Theater are excited to announce the Second Annual Silver City Community Film Festival, taking place October 2 - 5, 2025, at the Silco Theater in downtown Silver City. The 2024 inaugural festival featured 16 filmmakers, 30 films, and approximately 200 attendees.

"The Silver City Community Film Festival was well organized and is a terrific festival for indie filmmakers and indie film loving audiences alike," said filmmaker and 2024 festival participant, David James Baker. "If you are a filmmaker or artist working in just about any medium or simply a lover of the American Southwest, you should plan to exhibit your work or attend this festival in the heart of the Southwest. We had a great time attending this festival."

In its second year, the Silver City Community Film Festival has expanded its geographic boundaries for film submissions to include El Paso to Tucson, from east to west, and Albuquerque to Chihuahua, from north to south. The Silver City Community Film Festival welcomes the diversity of this Southwest Crossroads region in an intimate yet powerful festival, highlighting the talented filmmakers of this area and providing opportunities for valuable connections and collaborations.

New this year, the festival will include filmmaker mixers, taking place over the course of the festival weekend and providing opportunities for filmmakers to network and connect.

The Silver City Community Film Festival accepts submissions in all genres and forms of filmmaking, and encourages the spirit of the wild frontier. Awards will be granted in each submission category, as well as audience choice.

Films may be individual projects or group collaborations, and multiple entries may be submitted by one person. The early submission deadline is May 15. The regular deadline for submissions is August 1.
