SRSASS Outreach and Education Coordinator to Speak at March 5th PFLAG Meeting
Emma Eileen McKinley, Outreach and Education Coordinator for Silver Regional Sexual Assault Support Services (SRSASS), will be the guest speaker at the March 5th PFLAG meeting, 6:00 PM, at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 3845 N. Swan. Light refreshments will be served, and the public is invited.
McKinley will detail the services provided by SRSASS, including services for persons in the LGBTQ+ community and their families. Currently a student of Social Work, Philosophy, and Political Science at Western New Mexico University, McKinley spent two years as a volunteer advocate before moving into her current role in the summer of 2021. She is passionate about violence prevention, accessibility, and harm reduction, and believes that cultivating a culture of consent can be a powerful antidote to oppression. Â
Founded in 1973 by a mother and her gay son, PFLAG was born from the unified front of a family leading with love. An inspiring alliance of LGBTQ+ people and their loved ones continues to fuel PFLAG, fifty years later. For more information, call 575-590-8797 or go to pflagsilver.org and pflag.org .
