Silver City, NM, March 30, 2025—After having to postpone last month, Joclynn Palmer, a victim advocate at El Refugio, will be the guest speaker at the April 1st, PFLAG meeting, 6:00 PM, at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 3845 N. Swan. Light refreshments will be served.

According to El Refugio's website, the organization's mission and goal is to provide the doorway that is essential to a new life without violence and a path to taking control and restoring self-respect through their services and programs. Trained victim advocates assist with filing Domestic Violence Protection Orders, provide support at court hearings, and advocate for client needs. They offer assistance with safety planning, crisis intervention, victims' rights education, and assist clients with proper referrals and resources.
