As part of the university's accreditation process, representatives from the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) will be on the Western New Mexico University campus October 7-9, 2024, to meet with members of the campus community. Several of the sessions on the agenda will be open to the public.
As a "gatekeeper" agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, HLC assures that institutions comply with federal and state requirements, assess student learning, engage in institution-wide planning processes, are financially responsible, and evaluate and improve programming and services through analysis of data. WNMU proudly embraces the guiding values that underlie the five Criteria for Accreditation.
More information about the accreditation process can be found on the WNMU website.
