NM's Faith Community to Celebrate the Historical Resurrection of Jesus with Pastor Skip Heitzig and Musical Guest Mack Brock
ALBUQUERQUE, NM—Calvary Church announces New Mexico's biggest Easter sunrise service is Sunday, April 20, at 7:30 am at UNM Stadium. This community-wide Easter tradition is open to everyone and is free to attend.
This year's creative theme reflects the love and life made possible by the resurrection. Attendees will enjoy a vibrant celebration of Jesus' Resurrection, with heartfelt worship led by singer-songwriter Mack Brock and Calvary MSC. Skip Heitzig, Senior Pastor at Calvary Church, will share a compelling message about the hope and joy we have because Jesus rose from the grave. Spanish translation and deaf interpretation will be available.
Senior Pastor Skip Heitzig shared, "The brokenness of sin makes life too heavy for us to bear alone. Because of Jesus' death and resurrection, we can have freedom today—and hope for the future."
Mack Brock has been a worship leader and songwriter for over two decades. He has co-written songs that are sung in churches all over the world, including "O Come to the Altar," "Do It Again," "Resurrecting," "I Am Loved," and "Greater Things." He has seen firsthand how music can impact a person, and how God can show up in a room when people worship together. Mack lives in Charlotte, NC with his wife and their three kids.
Additional Easter morning services will be held at the Osuna campus at 9:30 and 11:30 am. Kids 5th grade and below can enjoy the bounce house and hunt for Easter eggs after services at 1:15 pm in the greenbelt. Additional Easter services will be held at our other Calvary Church campuses; visit EasterABQ.com for service times and locations.
Easter sunrise service will livestream with live pastoral and prayer support on live.calvarynm.church, on YouTube, and Facebook Live on Sunday, April 20, at 7:30 am. Easter morning services will also livestream at 9:30 and 11:30 am with live pastoral and prayer support.
Ahead of Easter Sunday, Calvary Church is hosting two Good Friday services on April 18 at their Osuna campus. The outdoor service at noon on Good Friday is a beloved annual tradition that includes worship, Communion, and a brief message from Pastor Skip Heitzig. The church is also holding a 6:30 pm service for those who cannot attend at noon due to daytime commitments. Vitalant will be on site for a blood drive from 8 am to 3 pm. The blood drive is also part of the church's annual Good Friday tradition.
