I-25 Roadway Rehabilitation Project, Mile Marker 58 to 78, Caballo
Mountain States Constructors, Inc. (Contractor) will be continuing a roadway rehabilitation project on Interstate 25 from milepost 58(Caballo) to milepost 78 (Las Palomas) in Sierra County. Drivers can expect various daytime lane closures on the Northbound Driving Lane, possible closures on the Southbound Driving Lane for paving operations. A 12' width restriction is in place throughout the project, oversize loads will require a permit. The contractor's hours of operation will be from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.

FNF Inc. (Contractor) will be beginning a roadway rehabilitation project on I-25 between Socorro and T or C. Starting Monday, April 28, 2025, drivers can expect various daytime lane closures on both the northbound and southbound lanes as needed for milling and paving operations. A 12' width restriction is in place throughout the project, oversize loads will require a permit. The contractor's hours of operation will be from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
I-10 Alert, Mile Marker 24, Lordsburg
The I-10 bridge is out at exit 24, eastbound traffic must utilize exits 20(Lordsburg West) or 22(Lordsburg) for access to business. This closure will be in place indefinitely.
I-10 Roadway Rehabilitation Project, Mile Marker 64 to 75, Deming CN1101890
Mountain States Constructors, Inc. (Contractor) will be finalizing the roadway rehabilitation project on Interstate 10 from milepost 64 (Gage) to milepost 75 (just west of Deming) in Luna County. All lanes are now open, finalization lane closure may be needed but will only be temporary. The contractor's hours of operation will be from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
I-10 Roadway Resurfacing Project, Mile Marker 146 to 164.3, Las Cruces to Anthony
Brasier Asphalt Inc., (Contractor), will be continuing with the resurfacing project in Dona ana Co. Starting at 5 p.m., drivers can expect lane closures in the eastbound and westbound passing and middle lanes between milepost 146 to milepost 159 (just west of the Anthony exit). The project involves the removal and replacement of pavement. Work will take place from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday night through Friday morning. The project is expected to be completed by Friday, June 27, 2025, weather permitting.
I-10 Bridge & Roadway Rehabilitation Project, Mile Marker 140 to 143, Las Cruces CNLC00371
La Calerita Construction, LLC. (Contractor) will be continuing a bridge rehabilitation project on I-10 over the University Ave Interchange, milepost 141. This project includes bridge rehabilitation, roadway reconstruction and lighting. Traffic has been shifted into the westbound lanes with the eastbound lanes closed for bridge construction. There will be no access to the eastbound on/off ramps and due to restricted areas in the westbound on ramp will be closed for the duration of the traffic switch. The speed limit has been reduced to 45 MPH throughout the project. Expect delays on Main St and University Ave below the I-10 Bridges. The contractor's working hours are through Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. This project is expected to be completed by July 2025.
US Roadways:
US 70 Roadway Rehabilitation, Mile Marker 149 to 150 Las Cruces LC00271
El Terrero Construction, LLC. (Contractor) is continuing a project to make roadway improvements to US 70 North Main Street between Spitz/N. Solano Drive and the intersection of N. Triviz Drive/Elks Drive. All traffic has been placed on the new eastbound and westbound lanes of US70. Contractors on sight are finalizing pavement striping and dirt work for the walking path. The Alameda Arroyo Trail crossing remains closed. Access will be maintained to all businesses and residences during construction. The speed limit is reduced to 35 miles per hour throughout the construction zone. Motorists are encouraged to use extra caution in the construction zone, obey lower posted speed limits and allow extra time to reach their destinations. Regular work hours are Monday-Friday 7 a.m.-5 p.m., although the contractor may work longer hours or on weekends if needed. US 70 Roadway Rehabilitation, Mile Marker 162 to 150, Las CrucesLC00440
Mesa Verde Enterprises, Inc. (Contractor) US 70 from MP 153 to 161 (Mesa Grande to town of Organ) is now in winter suspension, all lanes are open. Work is scheduled to resume on May 7, 2025.
US 180 Roadway Reconstruction Project, Mile Marker 123 to 128, Hurley, CN#1101841
Mountain States Constructors, Inc., (Contractor) will be continuing with the roadway reconstruction project along US 180 from 123.13 in Bayard to milepost 128.27 in Hurley. The detour at the railroad tracks is now in operation and traffic has been shifted into the eastbound lanes so construction can continue in the westbound lanes. Drivers should anticipate daytime lane closures in both the eastbound and westbound lanes as necessary. A flagging operation will be in place with up to a 15-minute wait time. Please be aware that Lime Quarry Rd has a new traffic pattern in place, caution is advised as you travel through the area. Speed limits are reduced throughout the project to 45 mph, this project is a double fine zone. The contractor's working hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and may work on Saturdays. This reconstruction project is expected to take just over a year to complete, depending on weather conditions.
US 180 & Caddel Crossing Intersection, Mile Marker 122, Santa Clara
Southwest Concrete & Paving Inc. (Contractor) will be completing a roadway construction rehabilitation project at the intersection of US 180 at mile post 122 and Caddel Crossing. Drivers can expect various lane closures and possible detours. The contractors' hours of operation will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
US 180, Mile Marker 90 to 110, west of Silver City
Dustrol, Inc (contractor) will begin a Hot-In-Place Recycling project along US 180 near Glenwood, NM. Traffic can expect lane closures beginning at milepost 87(Riverside) to milepost 110 (west of Silver city). A pilot car operation will be in place, please reduce your speed and obey traffic control devices. 10 ft width restriction is in place. Work will take place Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Construction is expected to be completed by May 16, 2025, weather pending.
State Roadways:
NM 101, University Ave Multimodal Project, Mesilla LC00290
La Calerita Construction, LLC. (Contractor) will be continuing the multi-modal project on University Avenue/New Mexico State Road 101 from Avenida de Mesilla to South Main Street. Only ONE lane of westbound traffic will be allowed on University Avenue/NM 101 between South Main Street and Avenida de Mesilla. Eastbound traffic will be routed to W. Union Avenue and S. Main Street to access University/ NM 101. Regular work hours are Monday-Friday 7 a.m.-4:30 p.m. although the contractor may work longer hours or on weekends as needed. Additional construction will follow this phase, with the project expected to be completed in fall 2026.
NM 1 Channel Erosion Mitigation, Bridge Preservation Mile Marker 60.340 to 60.435, Socorro
Hasse Contracting Company Inc. (Contractor) is currently working on a bridge rehabilitation project on NM 1 at milepost 60 near Socorro. Traffic can expect a temporary traffic signal in place with only one lane open over the bridge. Speed limits will be reduced, please obey traffic control devices. The contractor's hours of operation will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Drivers should expect delays and plan accordingly.
NM 273, Utility Work, Mile Marker 8 to 9, Santa Teresa
Nine Degree Construction (Contractor) will have lane closures in place on NM 273 and NM 136 for Utility placement. Speed limits will be reduced, please obey traffic control devices. The contractor's hours of operation will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Drivers should expect delays and plan accordingly. This project is expected to be completed by October 27, 2025.
Tour of the Gila:
SILVER CITY - The Annual Tour of the Gila Bicycle Race begins Wednesday, April 23, 2025, running through Sunday, Apr. 27, 2025.
Law enforcement agencies will provide traffic control as racers travel through various routes and stationed on NM 90, US 180, NM 152, NM 356, NM 15, and NM 35 to secure the safety of cyclists, spectators, and motorists. Sunday, Apr. 27, 2025, The Gila Monster Road Race: US 180 Starts at Gough Park to NM 152 onto NM 35 to NM 15, finishing at Pinos Altos. The closure will be on NM 15 from mile post 7 to milepost 25 from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. This will be in both directions.
Chip Seal Projects, Hidalgo & Grant Co:
The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) has begun "Fog Sealing" operations on NM 146 in and around Animas and Hachita. Speed limits will be reduced, no center stripe with loose gravel on roadway. Please follow pilot car.
City of Las Cruces Projects:
Casa Linda Acres Subdivision
As part of the Casa Linda Acres Reconstruction Project, Spartan Construction of NM, LLC, will be maintaining road closures on Avenida Blanco from South Valley Drive to Calle Del Encanto, and on Calle Del Sol from Avenida de Mesilla to West Brown Road. Closures will be implemented through June 28, 2025. Access will be maintained for residents; motorists are urged to follow all posted signs.
East Mesa Roads & Drainage - Cortez Drive Improvements
As part of the Cortez Drive Improvements, roadway, storm drainage, and utility improvements will be conducted by Caliper Construction (Contractor) on Cortez Drive between Porter Drive and Dunn Drive. Cortez will be closed to through traffic. Detours will be in place directing traffic around the road closure. Access will be maintained for residents; motorists are urged to follow all posted signs. The entire project is estimated to be completed by December 2025.
Madrid Avenue Extension Project
As part of the Madrid Avenue Extension project, Morrow Enterprises, Inc. will be doing roadway and utility work on Madrid Avenue. Morrow Enterprises will be maintaining a road closure on Madrid Avenue between Evelyn Street and Triviz Avenue. Detours will be in place directing traffic around the work zone.
