Baltazar Luzania Salcido, 79, Deming resident passed away Monday, March 4, 2024 at Mimbres Memorial Nursing Home.
Visitation will take place Friday, March 8, 2024 at 4 o'clock in the afternoon at Baca's Funeral Chapel, with the recitation of the Holy Rosary to follow at 6 o'clock in the evening led by Haydee Chavez. Mass of the Christian Burial will be Saturday March 9, 2024 at 10 o'clock in the morning at Holy Family Catholic Church. The rite of committal and interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery where he will be laid to rest. Officiating will be Fr. Prakasham Babu.
Baltazar was born January 6, 1945 to Mariana Luzania and Feliciano Salcido in Ascension, Chihuahua. He came to work in Deming when he was 15 years old, he worked as a cowboy on many ranches. He loved working with horses, listening to music especially "Mariachi," but most of all he loved his family.
Baltazar is survived by a son Ernesto (Rosa) Salcido; daughter Annabelle S. (Patricio) Carbajal; grandchildren Jose Luis Valdez, Baltazar "Tito" (Adriana) Valdez, Kassandra (Rafael) Carbajal, Mayra Salcido, Hilda (Timothy) Perez, Ernesto Salcido Jr., and Mayra Paez. As well as 9 great-grandchildren. Survivors also include his siblings Feliciano (Dolores) Salcido, Francisca (Jesus) Sanchez and Rosalia Salcido.
He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Elijio, Gilberto, Mario, and Eloy Salcido.
Serving as pallbearers will be Baltazar "Tito" and Damien Valdez, Rafael Parra, Ernesto "Chico," Mario, Gilberto Jr., and Eloy Salcido.
