Betty (Dale) Petree passed away peacefully at Willow Manor Assisted Living on the morning of Sunday, September 1st. She had been a resident of Deming for 55 years. She was 87.

Betty was born in Carrizozo, New Mexico to Henry and Doris Dale, on September 18, 1936. She came from a farming and ranching family and grew up in Colorado and New Mexico. The oldest of four, she had a brother Johnnie, and two sisters, Rosemary and Janet (deceased). She attended High School in Capitan, New Mexico where she met and married Dale Eugene Petree in 1952. Together they raised four kids, Dale Jr, Ken, Johnnie (deceased), and Ronda. Betty lost her husband to cancer in 2001. They had been married 49 years.

Betty was a hard worker during her life. In addition to the labor of raising four kids, she worked at raising livestock and farming. She was known to be a very capable woman, a serious housekeeper and she ran a tight ship. She had been an office manager at Kmart for many years. In retirement she volunteered building houses for Habitat for Humanity.

Betty will be remembered for her love of her family. In her later years she especially enjoyed and was proud of her six grandchildren. She was active in her community and had a busy social life with her many valued friends. During her life she had many, beloved dogs. Her close companions in recent years included her two cats for whom she had aspecial fondness. REST IN PEACE Betty, you will be missed!

Funeral services will be Friday morning, September 6, 2024 at 10:30 at Baca's Funeral Chapel with Pastor Allan Ward officiating. Concluding services and interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery.
