Daniel (Danny) Ray AKA "The Jerky Man" Molina, 60, a resident of Deming, NM, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2024 in Dallas, Texas, surrounded by his loved ones. Â He was born September 17, 1963, in Silver City, New Mexico to Betty Molina.
Danny started his career as an iron worker/pipe welder. He later started a well, known beef jerky business in the area. Danny enjoyed his business as it afforded him the opportunity to travel and meet many new people. He made friends everywhere he went. He was the life of the party and everyone he met had a story to tell about him, both good and bad. Danny enjoyed camping, fishing, and a good party at the lake. His other hobbies included gardening, carpentry projects, and long desert walks. He enjoyed cookouts with family, carne asada on the disco, and huge bonfires along with a nice cold Chelada. He loved to dance to Tejano music and loved to listen to a wide variety of music such as Classic Rock, Motown, Fleetwood Mac, and Jimmy Gonzales. He tore up the dance floor in his Levi's and boots. Danny accomplished his life-long goal of owning a Harley Davidson motorcycle. He enjoyed cruising on his bike and is now riding on the streets of Gold in Heaven.
Danny had many nicknames such as midget, Jerky man, Red Skeleton, grandpa chulo, Chingon and Chencho. Many remember Danny for his big beautiful smile and contagious laugh. Danny loved to reminisce about his younger years and all the trouble he got into. Danny was devoted to his faith, which contributed to the fighting spirit he had through his health journey. Danny resided in Deming with his wife Donita and their dog Dakota. Danny and Donita were married for 7 years. They shared a beautiful love for each other, and they enjoyed many adventures together.
Danny is survived by his wife of 7 years, Donita Molina, his children Olivia Villalobos (Edgar) of Ojinaga, MX, Carlos Martinez of Denver, CO, Breanna Molina (Erik) of Tyrone, NM, Branndon Molina (Dominique) of Tyrone, NM, Azariah Molina (Elissa) of Silver City, his Grandchildren Isaiah, Ambri, Michelle, Elijah, Unborn granddaughter, Trinity, Nehemiah, Rylan, Tobias and Jeremiah.
Danny was one of nine children and is survived by sisters Yolanda Aguirre (Saul) of Riverside, CA, Patricia Medina of T or C, NM, Mindy Manzano (Manny) of Riverside, CA and brother Steven (TJ) of Pahrump, NV. Â He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and primos.
Danny was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Molina, his maternal grandmother Anita Molina, and by his brothers Ralph Molina and Richard Medina. Danny left behind a huge legacy and memories that we will love and cherish forever. We love you and miss you, Ride with the Angels.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 9am on June 7, 2024 at Terrazas Funeral Chapel. Â The Memorial Mass will follow at 11am at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, in Silver City, NM with Fr Oliver Obele officiating. The family will be gathering at Gomez Peak Pavilion after mass to celebrate Danny's life. All are invited to join.
