Erminia "Minnie" Rodriguez Obituary
Erminia "Minnie" Rodriguez, 90, of San Lorenzo passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on Monday, December 16, 2024. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Baca's Funeral Chapels.
A Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at one o'clock in the afternoon on Monday, December 23, 2024 at the San Lorenzo Mission in San Lorenzo, NM. A Memorial Mass will be held at one-thirty. The Rite of Committal and Inurnment will follow at San Lorenzo Cemetery. Father Martin Okonkwo will officiate.
Minnie was born January 16, 1934 in Santa Rita, NM to Margarita Salaiz and Nicanor Dominguez Montoya. A loving mother and grandmother, Minnie spent much of her time as a homemaker. She also worked for many years as the site manager of the Grant County Senior Center. In her younger years, she enjoyed camping, hiking, going on picnics with her family, and making red enchiladas at Lake Roberts. More recently, she spent her time enjoying novelas and doing crossword puzzles.
Minnie is survived by three sons, Ruben Montoya (Althea) of Albuquerque, Ricardo Rodriguez (Patty) of San Lorenzo, Francisco Rodriguez (Phyllis) of Lathrop, CA; four daughters, Joanne Kirker of Albuquerque, Betty Gonzales (Gilbert) of Silver City, Lorraine Ponce (Gray) of Silver City and Agatha Rodriguez of Tucson, AZ; eighteen grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren; sixteen great-great grandchildren; sisters, Carmen Barron of California, Rosie Bueno of Hurley, and Lupe Chavez of San Lorenzo; brothers, Danny and Johnny Montoya; and special grandson-in-law, Miguel Rosales of San Lorenzo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Federico R. Rodriguez; one daughter, Mary Helen Rodriguez; three brothers, Fred Montoya, Nick Montoya, and Cipriano Montoya; one sister, Lucy Montoya; and her special 'comadre', Josie "Guera" Zapata.
