Felix Young Amador, 71, a resident of Silver City, NM, entered into the arms of our Lord on Monday, July 22, 2024 at Banner Hospital, in Tucson AZ. He was born on May 15, 1953 to his parents, Guillermo Rel and Emilia (Young) Amador in Bayard, New Mexico.

He worked at the mine for Kennecott/Phelps Dodge. He received his Associates in Applied Science from WNMU. He also worked for James Hamilton and Allied Barten as a security guard for many years.

Felix was a loving son, brother, uncle, father, grandfather and devoted loving husband. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family & friends. He loved to fish and go camping. He spent his last few years traveling and participating in activities with "The Divas". He was a Catholic by faith, an AZ Cardinal fan by heart and an exceptional man with a big heart and giving soul. He will be missed deeply.

He will be remembered for many things; his love of music and dancing, a jokester with many jokes and stories to tell along with a couple of magic tricks. Felix was very outgoing and was the life of the party. According to his grandkids he could fix anything. His memory will remain embedded in those who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace and continue to feel our love.

He is survived by his wife Mary Rita (Chata) of 50 years, four sons; Daniel Padilla (Amy) of Albuquerque, Jerry Amador (Melissa) of Silver City, Felix "Gene" Amador (Serena) of Hurley, Anthony Alviso of Silver City, one daughter Debra Greer (Mark) of Phoenix. Sixteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Three siblings; Joe Amador (Patsy) of Las Cruces, Ruben Amador (Susie) of Bayard, and Arlene Barragan of Bayard. Numerous nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents Guillermo and Emilia Amador of Bayard, NM, his siblings Louie, Viola, Ronnie, Senaida, and Mundy Amador. Also preceded in death by his in-laws, Rito & Helen Placencio, brother in laws Rito and Ruben Placencio and sister in law Maria "Baby" Placencio, nephews Geoffrey & David Jr Placencio and nieces Jackie & Kendra Placencio.

Visitations will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at 10:00am-10:30am at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the Holy Rosary commencing at 10:30am with Deacon Art Gutierrez reciting. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis Newman Center at 12:30pm with Father Ephraim Ezulike officiating. The interment will follow the mass at 2:00pm at Memory Lane in Silver City, NM. Pallbearers are Stephen Lucero, Kevin Amador, Andrew Amador, Joshua Amador, Michael Amador, and Anthony Alviso. Honorary Pallbearers, his granddaughters; Belinda Telles, Danielle Padilla, Kimberly Cohn, Brooklyn Amador, Jordan Greer, Raelyn Cohn, Ireland Greer, Jannia Cohn, Genessa Amador, Sofia Rose and Jaylah Rae Madrid.
