OchoaG Gabriel Gonzalez Ochoa, 61, a resident of Las Cruces, New Mexico and formally of Deming, New Mexico entered eternal rest on Thursday, July 18, 2024 in Las Cruces.

Visitation will begin Thursday, July 25, 2024 from 5 to 6 o'clock in the evening at Baca's Funeral Chapel (811 S. Gold Ave, Deming, NM 88030). The recitation of the holy rosary will then be recited at 6. The Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated the following day Friday, July 26, 2024 at 2 o'clock in the afternoon at St. Ann's Catholic Church (400 S. Ruby St, Deming, NM 88030). The rite of committal and interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery (3410 E. Pine St, Deming, NM 88030). Fr. Francis Gyau will officiate.

Gabriel was born February 19, 1963 in Deming, New Mexico to Carlos Grado Ochoa Sr. and Aurora Gonzalez. In his short 61 years, he touched the hearts of many lives spreading his kindness and generosity. There was never a stranger whom Gabriel did not befriend.

His love for his horses forged many friendships that lasted a lifetime never to be broken even in his passing. He had a great love for his many dogs and horses that loved him as much as he loved them. Gabriel lived a life of vigor and strength, traveling, taking great pleasure in training, and participating in horse racing. Through the many lives Gabriel embraced and touched he will truly be missed by many.

He is survived by his loving life partner, Sonia Muñoz; his children and step-children, Gabriel Julian Ochoa, Amanda Ochoa and Tricia Ochoa, Gloria Valverde, Ricardo Muñoz and Justine Muñoz (Hondo Sosaya); grandchildren, Zeke and Bianca Ochoa; step-grandchildren, Audri and Aujanae Sosaya; his siblings, Mary (Fernando) Flores, Abigal (John) Gavaldon, Esther Guzman, Dora (Arthur) Ochoa, Ofelia Gonzalez, Mary Helen Ochoa, Romelia Soto, Nicolas Ochoa, David (Norma) Ochoa, Michael Ochoa, Norma (Bob) Bills, and Lisa Ochoa; the mother of his children, Lisa V. Ochoa, several nieces and nephews and an overabundance of friends that loved him.

Gabriel is preceded in death by his parents, Carlos Sr., and Aurora Ochoa; his siblings, Carlos Ochoa Jr., Gumecindo Ochoa, and Alicia Porras. As well as his beloved Drake, his fur baby who faithfully was always by his side.

Receiving the honor to serve as Gabriel's pallbearers will be Ricardo Muñoz, Javier Flores, Fernando Flores Jr., Gume Ochoa Jr., Adrian Castro, and Brandon Arteche.
