George Vannatter, 65, a resident of Hurley, NM entered eternal rest Tuesday, December 24, 2024 at his residence. He was born October 21, 1959 to his parents, Herman and Dorothy (Van Osdel) Vannatter in Grants, NM.
George had a strong faith and enjoyed going to church. He served as an usher and volunteered his time and service to the church. He loved his grandchildren very much and enjoyed taking them with him to church. He was great with children and treated all of them like his own grandchildren. He loved to drag race and four-wheel and spent his free time building and working on his vehicles. His mechanical mind was nothing short of amazing. He was a wonderful man who was respected and liked by all he met, and will be missed greatly by all his family and friends.
He is survived by his sons Greg Vannatter (Fiancé Katelin Gutierrez) of Hurley, NM and Timothy Carpenter (Veronica) of Mcloud, OK; his brothers, Herman Vannatter of Silver City, NM and James "Jim" Vannatter of Silver City, NM; his eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Patricia DeBraal and Diane Weatherby.
The family will be holding a memorial service on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 12pm at The Door Christian Fellowship Church in Silver City, with Pastor Cory Galindez officiating.
