Yolanda Carrillo was born on July 3rd, 1949 to Pedro and Gloria Martinez. Yolanda was
raised in Hurley, NM with her brother Gilbert and her two sisters Andrea and Annabel. She
attended Cobre High School where she met her high school sweetheart, David Carrillo,
with whom she had four children: David, Fabre, Quma and Maria. Unfortunately, she lost
the love of her life in a tragic accident and began the journey of raising all her children as a
devoted mother in 1980. Yolanda always worked diligently with a smile on her face and
was able to obtain an early childhood degree from WNMU in 2001. Yolanda's pride and joy
was her family and she consistently expressed her love to them through cooking and baking, since it was her way of showing each and every one of them how special they were.
Yolanda loved to sew, camp and fish and no matter where she went, she always knew
someone and if by not made a new friend. Like her father, she had a green thumb along
with a love for animals, especially her beautiful dog Smokey.
Our dear mother peacefully passed away on February the 28th surrounded by her family.
Yolanda will be missed dearly, yet her legacy will never be forgotten. She will live on
through her friends and family and we can only hope to live our lives with the strength and
love that she brought to the world.
Rest in Peace with our Lord Jesus Christ Yolanda, Dearest Mother, Grandmother, Daughter
and Friend for he is our everlasting life. "Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess,
for He who promised is faithful" Hebrews 10:23.
