Undeniably Right
I believe what I say and believe I am right. Thus, the title of my column, Undeniably Right. Take it as you will, that I'm a conservative or I have a huge ego and believe I am always correct. Sometimes those things overlap, sometimes not.

More Dirty Tricks From Politicians

Our founding fathers knew that people were fallible especially when put in positions of power. Politics is a dirty profession and it was never meant to be a career. It was accepted as a necessary evil to perform very limited functions and with its power limited so as to prevent that which our founding fathers had escaped. Obviously it has not lasted.
Nevada's state legislature has given us another reason not to trust politicians. In the closing days of their most recent session, legislators were considering assembly bill 423. The purpose of the bill was to prevent local school boards from holding meetings at times that were inconvenient for the majority of parents who wanted to attend and participate. Especially in Clark and Washoe County, where many of the woke programs were being pushed, school board members had gotten tired of pushback from parents and were holding meetings at times when most parents were working and could not attend. The bill had unanimous bipartisan support and was touted for its focus on transparency and openness.

John Durham's report is as damning as you would expect. After reading the report it appears the only people not involved in the Trump/Russia collusion were Donald Trump and the Russians. The findings in the report only confirm what many of us already knew about the corruption in our federal government. But it's what's not in the report that may be more telling, especially about John Durham.
Many of us had concerns about Durham when he refused to release his preliminary report prior to the 2020 elections. We don't really know if the outcome of the election would have been different, but it certainly raised questions about his integrity. Was he trying to give Joe Biden as much of a chance as possible by not releasing the information he had already gathered? Like many of you, my suspicion at the time was that the answer was yes.
This report, in my opinion, solidifies that fear. Durham refused to use the power of the grand jury to force testimony from some of the key players in the hoax. People can and should be compelled to testify before the grand jury and if they don't they can suffer consequences. The list of people that did not testify or suffer consequences includes James Comey, Andrew McCabe, Peter Strzok, Bill Priestap, Kevin Clinesmith, and Glenn Simpson, all key players in the fabrication.

Goodbye College Athletics

I have been a sports fan my entire life. Like many Americans I love football, both professional and college, I used to love the NBA and still watch some college basketball. I was also right in line with everyone when the Olympics rolled around to support our country and the athletes that represented us. I even like track and field. But the landscape of sports is changing drastically. And not for the better.
I'm not necessarily talking about the woke policies pushed by many of our professional leagues and now many of our colleges that promote transgender participation, negatively affecting the opportunities available to biological women. Those are all things that take away from our enjoyment of sports but I'm talking about the blatant and now open influence of money in college sports. College football, much like the Olympics, wore the cloak of amateurism, those who played for the love of the game. And while there were some programs that had a definite advantage and built teams that were always competitive, there was still the opportunity for schools with smaller budgets to ride the underdog persona to competitiveness or even championships.

We Were Right About Artificial Intelligence

A number of recent surveys revealed that Americans are scared of artificial intelligence. 75% of us think it can be abused and needs to be regulated. However, only 30% of us believe the government would be an effective regulator of artificial intelligence. The abuses that bother us aren't the Arnold Schwarzenegger Terminator movies, but or how it could be used to control our lives on a daily basis. Their fears are well founded given recent uses of the technology to support left wing political positions and to target those that express differing opinions.
But there is a more sinister use that has been developed. Stories are appearing in which a parent receives a phone call from a child. The child tells mom or dad they are in trouble; maybe they've been kidnapped or are on spring break and got arrested. The parents are convinced the call comes from their child because they recognize the voice and details of their call are extremely plausible. But the calls don't come from the child. Bad people have replicated the voice using AI. The AI program has scoured social media to find out details about the child's life and finding recordings of them speaking. It makes the calls extremely plausible. Experts are telling everyone to create a safe word, much as we did when our children were in elementary school.
