In the waning hours of the Presidential campaign, Dems are resorting to previously tried and failed tactics by referring to Trump as a latter-day Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini or any number of notorious dictators.

Maybe, all rolled into one.

Good grief, can't someone within the party come up with something a little more creative — and believable? The "Trump is worse than Hitler" tirade is getting a little old. Particularly in an era when a lot of people are not familiar with the atrocities committed by a German madman nearly a century ago.

Gabby claims Representative Terrazas doesn't support clean water by voting no to this legislation.
•TRUTH: This bill would have increased all of our water bills.Even the Governor vetoed this passed legislation. Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham explained in her veto, this was "too onerous on New Mexicans…an increased fee for drinking water is not warranted at this time."

Trump Believes Harris Needs Her Head Examined

"Her actions have led many to believe that there could be something very wrong with her. We just went through almost four years of that, we shouldn't have to go through it again." — Donald Trump posted Monday, Oct. 14, 2024, on his Truth Social account.

In simple terms, former President Donald Trump believes Vice President Kamala Harris needs her head examined. Something isn't working right.

As an example, he cites President Joe's well documented confusion and gaffes when speaking. A condition made more apparent during his and Trump's Presidential Debate in June. Shortly after, the Democrat National Committee removed Biden from the 2024 campaign and inserted Harris.

My Name is Maurine Laney, retired Magistrate Judge of the Division 1 Court in Grant County. In 2022 I retired from a 30 year career in the court, the last 12 years of which were on the bench. One thing I've learned from this experience is that, if we are concerned about the safety of our community, there is not a single more important election than that of the District Attorney.

Under New Mexico law, virtually every step of a criminal case is driven by a prosecutor. A judge cannot, for example, hold a dangerous defendant in jail without bail pending trial unless a prosecutor files a petition and presents clear and convincing evidence of that person's dangerousness in an expedited hearing. Absent a Guilty or No Contest Plea, a judge cannot find someone guilty of a crime (thank goodness), unless a prosecutor presents evidence equating to proof beyond a reasonable doubt in trial. Despite public opinion, a judge cannot summarily find a person in violation of their conditions of release or conditions of probation without a prosecutor presenting substantial evidence of the violation at a hearing. A judge with every intention of holding people accountable for their actions and imposing consequences that will deter crime and promote positive change in outcomes, simply has their hands tied unless a competent, prepared, prosecutor does their job.

Isn't it "wonder"ful?

Voting early in the 2024 general election, I wondered how the order of candidates for president was determined. Why, I wondered, was the Harris-Walz ticket afforded the premium place of first in queue, while the Trump-Vance team was relegated to next to last in the sea of seven candidates.

A call to Santa Fe to the Bureau of Elections gave me some answers but created others.

I want to set the record straight about the most recent hit piece against me, mailed by a Republican PAC supporting Gabriel Ramos. The lawsuit that the mailer referenced was settled and dismissed 20 years ago with no finding of guilt, and is being resurrected now as a smear tactic to derail my campaign for senate. This is exactly the kind of mudslinging that turns people off from politics.

Our community should know that I did nothing wrong, and I was never named as a party to the lawsuit. What this means as a practical matter is that I had no control over the case – I couldn't decide whether to settle or go to trial. If it had been up to me, I would have had a jury hear my side of the story. A lawsuit's allegations are just that – one person's narrative. Remember when Trump alleged in court that the election was stolen? I was neither fired nor disciplined in my job as a police officer as a result of those allegations. This lack of official repercussions underscores the absence of wrongdoing in my professional conduct.

If Joe and Kamala's chaotic leadership the past three and a-half years isn't irrefutable evidence of their thoroughly screwed-up capabilities as President and Vice President, now they have completely botched the government's response to the disaster inflicted by hurricane Helene.
