Community Partnership for Children (CPC) is calling all families, fitness enthusiasts, and superheroes in disguise! Lace-up your running shoes and unleash your inner hero at this year's Superhero Family Fit Fest, a day of action-packed activities, healthy fun, and community spirit. Featuring a Family Fun Run, 5K, and 10K races, this event promises something for everyone—from seasoned runners to young sidekicks. Not a runner, no problem! Sign up for the Super Cornhole Clash 1st place prize is a set of cornhole boards per participant!! The September Spectacular Superhero Family Fit Fest is Saturday, September 14, 2024, from 8 AM to 4 PM at Bataan Memorial Park, in Santa Clara. The proceeds will ensure that all children in our community have access to quality and affordable early education and care.
On Friday, Sept. 20, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., a Waterworks open house will feature from 11-11:30 an awards of appreciation ceremony. Please make a note of where you are allowed to park for the event.

Dedication Gathering on September 14th, 1:00 pm at Silva Creek Botanical Garden
On Saturday, September 14th, at 1:00 p.m., the community is invited to a dedication event for the Children's Butterfly Garden at Silva Creek Botanical Garden, located at N. Virginia and State Streets in Silver City.
The gathering will include live music provided by Andrew Dahl-Bredine, an interactive butterfly activity for all ages, a puppet show, and cake for everyone to celebrate the re-emerging of the Butterfly.

Protecting New Mexico's Last Wild River: Charting the Path Ahead
The Gila Conservation Coalition invites you to join us for this year's Gila River Festival - Protecting New Mexico's Last Wild River: Charting the Path Ahead - scheduled for September 26 – 29, 2024. As we commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Gila Wilderness, the Gila River Festival will not only celebrate this important milestone in protecting America's first Wilderness River, but will also look to the Gila's future. By exploring themes of long-term protection, climate resilience, cultural exchange, and stewardship, we will envision together the Gila River's next hundred years and beyond.
