WHITE: Robert "Bob" E. White, 100, passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, July 2, 2024. Born in Washington State, as an infant he was crowned with the title of Most Beautiful Baby in Spokane Valley. He joined the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II at the age of seventeen; a decision he said probably kept him from going down a rough path. While serving, he became a pilot, graduating in the top 10% of his class. He was able to test pilot many of the new planes coming out during WWII. While stationed in Harlingen, Texas, Bob traveled to California for training when a chance encounter at a USO dance changed his life forever. That is where he met and was smitten by a local gal named Eunice Burkett. Throughout his time in California, Bob sought out every opportunity to court Eunice, even if it meant "borrowing" a plane a time or two.

Oscar "Momitto" Vasquez Madrid Jr., 27, lifelong resident of Deming entered eternal rest of Sunday, June 30, 2024 in Las Cruces, New Mexico
Visitation will be held Saturday, July 6, 2024 from 9 to 10 o'clock in the morning at Baca's Funeral Chapel. The holy rosary will be recited at 10 and the funeral liturgy to follow thereafter. Final interment will then take place at Mountain View Cemetery where Momitto will be laid to rest. Deacon Bill Holguin will officiate.
Momitto as most knew him by was born June 20, 1997 in Deming, New Mexico to Oscar Vasquez Madrid and Natalia Vasquez. He was always very happy and enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved cracking jokes amongst his friends and family and always looking for a good time. Momitto loved music and even though he was not quite the dancing type, but when a good tune came on, he had to throw in a couple dance moves because he was feeling the vibe to have fun and make people laugh. He enjoyed hanging out with his brothers and of course with having one sister, he always had to mess around with her. Momitto loved to be around his family overall, with his cousins, grandparents, nieces, nephews, and siblings. But the person he loved the most to be around was his son Zaiiden. There was no other person he loved more than his son. Other than loving and caring for his family, his comfort and happy place was sitting on the porch, listening to his favorite music, having a cigarette, and watching the sunset. That was his peace.
