El Departamento de Medio Ambiente de Nuevo México (New Mexico Environment Department, NMED) llevará a cabo una Revisión del rendimiento, tal como lo exige CERCLA, sección 121, para evaluar la implementación y el rendimiento de la medida correctiva de remoción de suelos. El propósito de la revisión es determinar la continuidad de la protección de la acción correctora de eliminación de suelos para la Unidad de Investigación de Suelos de Hurley de la Orden Administrativa de Consentimiento de Chino. La Orden Administrativa de Consentimiento de Chino es un acuerdo entre Chino Mines Company, una empresa de Freeport McMoRan Inc., y el NMED para investigar la posible contaminación relacionada con operaciones mineras históricas y subsanar la contaminación según sea necesario para proteger la salud humana y el medio ambiente.

The New Mexico Environment Department (NMED) will conduct a Performance Review as required by CERCLA § 121 to evaluate the implementation and performance of the soil removal remedy. The purpose of the review is to determine the continued protectiveness of the soil removal remedial action for the Hurley Soils Investigation Unit of the Chino Administrative Order on Consent. The Chino Administrative Order on Consent is an agreement between Chino Mines Company, a holding of Freeport McMoRan Inc., and NMED to investigate potential contamination related to historic mining operations and to remediate contamination as necessary to protect human health and the environment.
