SANTA FE, NM – In recognition of Veterans Day -- Monday, November 11 -- the State Parks Division will waive any day-use and overnight camping fees for New Mexico veterans, active military, National Guard and their dependents.
"It is our privilege to say thank you to our veterans and to let them know we are grateful for their sacrifices and accomplishments," said State Parks Director Toby Velasquez. "We also want to recognize the many veterans working in our State Parks who now protect and serve the public and landscapes we cherish. Their contributions will be remembered for generations to come."
Albuquerque, NM, November 4, 2024 – Observe New Mexico Elections (ONME), a nonpartisan observation effort designed to increase trust and transparency in elections, announced their findings of the 2024 general election during the early voting timeframe. ONME trained and accredited more than 50 observers who visited 82 unique voting locations in 24 counties across New Mexico during the early voting window of October 8-November 2, 2024.
ONME observed early voting election processes in Bernalillo, Catron, Cibola, Curry, De Baca, Doña Ana, Eddy, Grant, Hidalgo, Lea, Los Alamos, Luna, McKinley, Mora, Otero, Rio Arriba, Roosevelt, San Juan, Sandoval, Santa Fe, Sierra, Socorro, Taos, and Union counties.

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – November 1, 2024 – Today, weather conditions remained favorable to successfully complete ignitions on the Cibola National Forest & National Grasslands (NF & NG) Tablazon prescribed fire (Rx) on the Sandia Ranger District. Crews continued with ground ignitions to blackline fuels along control lines and burning of interior pockets of 107 acres on units 4 & 5. With yesterday and today's operations, fire managers completed the 189 acres of prescribed fire operations on the Tablazon Project area.
With ignitions complete on the Tablazon prescribed fire project, fire crews will transition to a patrol and monitor plan until the fire is called out.
Fall fishing has been HOT and hunting seasons are well underway.

Dona Ana County, NM - New Mexico State Police, in a multi-agency effort, has successfully disrupted extensive drug, human, and arms trafficking networks along New Mexico's southern border through a nine-day operation from October 16 to October 24.
The operation's strategic approach included pinpointing high-crime areas, uncovering stash houses, intensifying patrols, and fostering community connections to dismantle organized criminal activities and enhance community safety, ultimately rescuing multiple trafficking victims.
