Sandra K. Contreras, 44, Deming resident passed away August 18, 2024 at Mountain View Regional Medical Center in Las Cruces.
Visitation will take place Friday, August 30, 2024 at 9 10 o'clock in the morning at Baca's Funeral Chapels with the funeral service to follow at 1 o'clock in the afternoon.
Sandy was born in Deming on January 7, 1980 to Charlene Torres and Abelardo Contreras Sr. She was an adventurous and outspoken person who enjoyed arts and crafts, watching movies, cartoons, listening to music, interacting with the residents at her work, camping, cruising on her monster truck, and spending time with her family, nieces, nephews and friends. Most of all her grandkids were her world, her 3 babies Renezmae Contreras, Sammie Toledo and Ismael Toledo. Sandy worked as a cook at Willow Manor Assisted Living Facility.
Robert Elmer Dyson, 87, Deming resident passed away Saturday, August 17, 2024 in Las Cruces, NM. Cremation has been entrusted to Baca's Mimbres Crematory.

Stella Kirker, 85, of Silver City passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Silver City Care Center.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at 10am followed by the Funeral Liturgy at 10:30am at Baca's Funeral Chapels. Concluding service and burial will be at Santa Clara Cemetery where she will be laid to rest by her husband, Henry Kirker. Officiating will be Deacon Bill Holguin.

Robert Charles Vanderwood, 75, of Deming, New Mexico, passed away on July 20, 2024.
Robert was born on October 18, 1948 to Ralph and Virginia in Oak Park, Illinois. After Robert's schooling, he went on to serve in the United States Navy from 1967 to 1973.
After his time in the Navy, he began working as a Hotel Night Auditor, eventually working his way up to Regional Manager with Drury Inn. After his time there, he had a career as a long-haul trucker.
In 1980, Robert embarked on a 5 month canoe trip down the Missouri River with his best friend Steve Schrader, and other companions. They traveled over 1,200 miles together. He would remember the adventure and tell its story for the rest of his life.
In 2004, Robert retired and spent his time traveling all across the United States with his brother, Paul.
Randolph " Randy" M. Delfin, 76, of Santa Clara passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at Silver City Care Center.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, August 22, 2024 from 5pm to 6pm followed by The Prayer Vigil and Rosary at 6pm at Baca's Funeral Chapels. The Funeral Liturgy will take place on Friday, August 23, 2024 at the Santa Clara Catholic Church at 10am. Concluding service and burial will be at the Santa Clara Cemetery. Officiating will be Father Casmir Anozie.

Foster John Witthauer, 96 a resident of Silver City, NM entered eternal rest Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at Gila Regional Medical Center. He was born September 26, 1927 in Edgewater, CO to Otto John and Mary E. Witthauer.
A graduate of North High School in Denver, CO, Mr. Witthauer enrolled in the Colorado School of Mines in the fall of 1945 before enlisting in the U.S. Army in the spring of 1946. He served 3 years, including graduation from Officer Candidate School. Following discharge from the US. Army, Mr. Witthauer returned to the Colorado School of Mines.
