Western New Mexico University will be hosting an event at its Mimbres Learning Center to introduce prospective students in Deming to the university. Attendees will have an opportunity to explore academic programs, discover the technical and healthcare workforce programs available, meet with admissions and academic advisors, and learn how to fund a debt-free education. The event includes a live performance by the university's award-winning mariachi group, Mariachi Plata de WNMU. Refreshments will be served.

SILVER CITY, NM — The Silver City MainStreet Project and Silco Theater are excited to announce the Second Annual Silver City Community Film Festival, taking place October 2 - 5, 2025, at the Silco Theater in downtown Silver City. The 2024 inaugural festival featured 16 filmmakers, 30 films, and approximately 200 attendees.
"The Silver City Community Film Festival was well organized and is a terrific festival for indie filmmakers and indie film loving audiences alike," said filmmaker and 2024 festival participant, David James Baker. "If you are a filmmaker or artist working in just about any medium or simply a lover of the American Southwest, you should plan to exhibit your work or attend this festival in the heart of the Southwest. We had a great time attending this festival."
