Lonnie B. Strange, 57, entered into eternal rest on April 4, 2024 at Del Sol Medical Center in El Paso, Texas. He was born on July 26, 1966 to Donald and Kathryn Strange in Tucson, AZ.Â
He leaves behind mother, Kathryn Strange, brother, Chris Strange, his children-Ashley Benjamin (Tron), Katie Rolon (Wilson), Donald Strange, Samantha Strange (Aaron), Lonnie Lee Strange, BFF Vera Strange, sister-in-law Kristy Shoefstall, his eleven grandchildren, his aunts and uncles – David and Margaret Strange, Patricia Strange, Charles and Judy Strange, two nieces and six cousins. He was preceded in death by father Donald, son Johnnie, Grandmothers – Dorothy Blalock and Pat Pierce, Uncle Jon Strange and cousin Steve Strange.Â
Lonnie was a very loving and giving person who fought to overcome his struggles and lived his life, as he would say, "Lonnie's way."Â He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, as he was a big presence in our lives.Â
Michelle Detterick went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 4, 2024.  Linda Michelle was born on January 14, 1953 to Ralph and Mary Hensley in Charleston, WV.  She was the third child of four and a born peacemaker.  The family moved to Silver City in 1961 from Russellville, Ohio and Silver City became a lifelong home to Michelle.  After graduating from Silver High School, she earned a Bachelor in Sociology from Trinity University in San Antonio and a Masters in Education from Western New Mexico University. Michelle was a devoted and loving wife and mother. She married Robert Detterick on August 31, 1974.
Michelle started her career as a Social Worker; but when motherhood came along, she decided to go into teaching to be home with her children.  Their first born, Diana Detterick, now lives with husband Andrew in England and their son, Mark Detterick, lives with his wife Tona and 3 children in Boerne, TX.  Michelle took much joy in being "Mimi" to Grace, Nico, and Madi.  She is also survived by brother Michael (Diana) Hensley of Animas; sisters Chris (Len) Bunts of Buckhorn, and Kate (David) Dellinger of Whitewater, Kansas.
In April 2, 2024 Linda Gail White Jordan, loving wife and mother of seven children and four stepchildren passed away at age 72.
Linda was born on September 15, 1951 in Huntsville, Alabama to James (Bud) White and Betty Jo Walton White. On January 16, 1976 she married Jack Turney Jordan.
Linda was preceded in death by her father Bud, her mother Betty Jo, her brother Sammy and sister Frances. She is survived by her husband Jack and her children Angela, Shane, Kent, Jak, Jay, Linda, and Gail, and her two sisters Pam and Carol Ann. Along with 24 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many more extended families.
Beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother, Helen Vaughn, 88, passed away on March 20, 2024 at her home in Silver City, NM, surrounded by her family. Helen was born on May 10, 1935 in Lanai City, HI to Shinji and Miyono Yamato.
Helen grew up in Lanai City, HI, she enrolled at the University of Hawaii (Manoa campus) when she was encouraged by other Hawaiians to transfer to a school on the mainland, Western New Mexico University in Silver City, NM.Â
Helen and her good friend, Shirley Nunotani, decided to embark upon this adventure as roommates and enrolled at WNMU. Once they arrived in Silver City, it was there that they met their future husbands, Roger Vaughn and Dick Smith who happened to be roommates themselves. This made things easy as they swapped roommates! Of course, Helen and Roger eventually married, as did Dick and Shirley!

Terrance James Fritz, 80, Deming resident passed away Saturday, March 30, 2024 in Las Cruces. Services are pending.
