Baltazar Luzania Salcido, 79, Deming resident passed away Monday, March 4, 2024 at Mimbres Memorial Nursing Home.
Visitation will take place Friday, March 8, 2024 at 4 o'clock in the afternoon at Baca's Funeral Chapel, with the recitation of the Holy Rosary to follow at 6 o'clock in the evening led by Haydee Chavez. Mass of the Christian Burial will be Saturday March 9, 2024 at 10 o'clock in the morning at Holy Family Catholic Church. The rite of committal and interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery where he will be laid to rest. Officiating will be Fr. Prakasham Babu.
Baltazar was born January 6, 1945 to Mariana Luzania and Feliciano Salcido in Ascension, Chihuahua. He came to work in Deming when he was 15 years old, he worked as a cowboy on many ranches. He loved working with horses, listening to music especially "Mariachi," but most of all he loved his family.
Ross Don Lucero, 75 of North Hurley and formerly of Albuquerque, passed away, Sunday, February 25, 2024 in El Paso, Texas.
Cremation has been entrusted to Baca's Funeral Chapels. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at Eleven o'clock in the morning on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Baca's Funeral Chapels. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow at the Hurley Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest in the family plot. Officiating will be Deacon Art Gutierrez. A Memorial Service for Ross will be held at one o'clock in the afternoon Saturday, March 9, 2024 at His Place Ministries in Albuquerque, New Mexico located at 5505 Central Blvd NW. Ross's brothers will officiate.
Honorary Pallbearers are Gabriel Lucero, Ross Lucero Jr., Randy De La O, Manny Saborio, Larry Aguilera, Crispin Fierro Jr., Matthew Gonzalez, and Anthony Gonzalez.

Visitation will take place Wednesday March 6, 2024 at 4 o'clock in the afternoon at Baca's Funeral Chapel with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6 o'clock in the evening led by Dolores Renteria. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday March 7, 2024 at 1 o'clock in the afternoon at St. Ann's Catholic Church. The rite of committal and interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery where he will be laid to rest. Officiating will be Fr. Francis Gyau.
Manuel was born to Hortencia Duarte and Edmundo Saavedra on November 25, 1944 in Janos, Chihuahua. He loved to dance, listen to music, but what he loved the most was spending time with his family.
Manuel is survived by his wife; Lydia Saavedra, sons; Manuel (Maria Rebecca) Saavedra, Marcos Saavedra, Juan Antonio (Elizabeth) Saavedra and Ruben Saavedra, 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers; Jose Dolores & Edmundo Saavedra, 3 sisters; Jesus Maria (Juan) Ochoa, Rosalva Saavedra and Socorro Jacquez.
Gino Segura Vannatter, 23, a resident of Silver City, NM, entered eternal rest on Friday, March 1, 2024 at Gila Regional Medical Center, in Silver City, NM. Arrangements are pending with Terrazas Funeral Chapels ~ 575-537-0777.
Jesus Beltran Flores, 78, a resident of Silver City, NM, entered eternal rest on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at University Medical Center in El Paso, TX. He was born on December 24, 1945 to his parents Remijio and Felicita (Beltran) Flores in Ajo, AZ, where he was born and raised. He loved to all family outings/trips, pulling over on the side of the road eating a bologna sandwich and a cold water or Coke. He enjoyed going camping and fishing in the White Mountains. He had such a love for guns, not for hunting, but just to have. He had an incredible work ethic that carried onto his children. In 1973, he began his employment with Phelps Dodge as a laborer and continued his career with Freeport McMoran as a Haul truck driver and due to the strike, relocated to Tyrone, NM where he retired after 41 years. He was known by his co-workers in the mine to be a hard-worker and great example in his field of work. He was always willing to help others. He was also, a Denver Broncos fan; however, he was known to be a team hopper.Â
Joseph L. Dautremont, Jr., 93, of Silver City passed away on February 16. He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Delores Dautremont, their daughter Jeanette, his brother Fr. Charles Dautremont and sister Margaret Honton. He is survived by his brother James Dautremont and sister Maureen Damiani, twelve children, and over 100 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Joe was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Joseph & Gail Dautremont, Sr. and was the eldest of their five children. He married Delores at 21 before completing his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Michigan. After graduation, they moved to California, where he earned a Master's degree in Mathematics at UCLA. He worked on the Moon Landing, microwave communications, and pioneered radar jamming technology for the B2 Stealth Bomber. Joe was an avid mountain climber and lead multiple backpacking expeditions in the Sierra Nevada mountains, Mount Whitney, the Tetons, and Mount Popocatépetl volcano in Mexico, as well as a canoe expedition down the Mackenzie River in Canada.
Francis Joseph Dockx, 80, Deming resident and originally of Montclair, New Jersey died Saturday, March 2, 2024 in El Paso, Texas from leukemia. He born May 24, 1943 in Glen Ridge, New Jersey to John Vincente Dockx and Margaret Courter.
After settling in Deming, he was a familiar face at the Saturday morning flea markets, a volunteer at the FUMC rummage sales and a trusted and respected handyman and painter for friends and neighbors. Frank was a good man, he was funny, loved beautiful things and made friends easily.
He is survived by his beloved soulmate Kathie (Kat) Gates-Porath; his three children John (Cindy), Kristie (Rob Asero) and Kelley along with 3 grandchildren, Brielle, Christian, Kyla. Frank will be missed by many.
As per his wishes cremation will take place and has been entrusted to Baca's Mimbres Crematory.

Carlos F Herrera, age 91 passed away peacefully on February 25, 2024 at his daughter's home in Rio Rancho, NM. He was surrounded by his daughters Perla Herrera, Rosario Herrera and granddaughter Karina Herrera.Â
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at Six o'clock in the evening on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at Baca's Funeral Chapels. The Funeral Liturgy will be at Ten o'clock in the morning on Friday, March 8, 2024 at Infant Jesus Shrine in Hurley, NM. At Carlos' request, cremation will follow. Officiating will be Father Casmir Anozie.  Serving as pallbearers are Paul Herrera, Fernie Martinez, Meme Martinez, Sam Gomez, Steve Gomez and Tyson Bays.
