Two Bills Would Help Reign In the EPA While Boosting American Energy
Washington, D.C. - ?This week, the House of Representatives is expected to vote on two critical bills to advance American energy production while limiting the power of Washington, D.C. bureaucrats. ?The Energy & Water bill (H.R. 8997) and the Interior and Environment bill (H.R. 8998) will slash funding for the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) by 20 percent and reject the Biden-Harris Administration’s illegal pause on American liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports. Additionally, these bills will expand access to critical resources that were blocked by the Biden-Harris Administration.
Albuquerque – ?New Mexico Senator Martin Heinrich, who recently ?expressed strong support ?for Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign, is staying silent on her position to ban fracking. During her short-lived campaign for President in 2019, ?Harris proudly ?declared, “There’s no question I’m in favor of banning fracking.” Despite the fact such a position would rob $11.3 billion from New Mexico’s economy, put over 100,000 out of work, and cause energy prices to skyrocket.
Washington, D.C. - ?With Joe Biden’s ?announcing ?he will not seek a second term ?and endorsing ?Vice President Kamala Harris, Power The Future Founder and Executive Director Daniel Turner issued the following statement:
“It’s hard to believe but Vice President Harris’ extremism on climate issues extends even further than President Biden. During her ill-fated and short-lived 2020 presidential campaign, Harris was an early and enthusiastic supporter of the Green New Deal and called for so-called ‘carbon neutrality’ by 2030, all of it with a $10 trillion price tag. Harris even embraced the concept of sacrificing red meat at the altar of the climate cult that calls the shots in today’s Democratic Party. Make no mistake: whoever emerges from the ashes of the Biden-Harris ticket will be no friend to America’s energy workers.”
Some of the lowlights of the Harris climate plan include:
Albuquerque – ?According ?to media reports, Martin Heinrich is now the third Senator from his party to call on President Biden to step aside. In response, Power The Future Communications Director Larry Behrens issued the following statement:
“There is absolutely nothing new that Martin Heinrich knows about Joe Biden today that he hasn’t known for years. This is about politics and power, pure and simple. Since Biden took office, Martin Heinrich reliably signed off on every one of Biden’s policies, including those aimed at New Mexico’s energy industry that delivers more than $11.3 billion dollars to the state’s economy. He is pretending to have a backbone not because he’s worried about New Mexico, but because he’s worried about the ballot box.”
Washington, D.C. - ?Power The Future applauds President Trump’s ?selection of Ohio Senator J.D. Vance as his running mate in the 2024 election. ?Daniel Turner, Founder and Executive Director for Power The Future, issued the following statement:
?“Senator Vance rose to national fame because of his book which highlights one of the many forgotten areas of America. For decades, elites in Washington DC have pushed a political agenda that has devastated rural energy towns from coal mines in southeast Ohio to oil fields in California. Millions of energy workers have been sacrificed at the altar of the green movement, and to have one of their own, someone who knows the struggles of small towns targeted by powerful DC green groups, breathes hope into these struggling communities. It is refreshing to have a major political party represented by a voice ?and a fighter from the heartland."
Washington, D.C. - President Biden announced new rules today aimed at increasing penalties and regulations on small businesses for what he calls "extreme heat." The President is again bypassing Congress by handing down the new regulations through a Department of Labor rule. Although specific amounts have yet to be reported, the penalties on small businesses who do not comply with the new rules will "increase significantly" according to a senior White House official.
Washington, D.C. - Today, a federal judge blocked President Biden's ban on liquified natural gas (LNG) export permits. The case, filed by 16 states in March, was decided today when a federal judge ruled Biden's LNG ban "be stayed in its entirety, effective immediately." In response, Daniel Turner, Founder and Executive Director for Power The Future, issued the following statement:
"Joe Biden seems to have as much trouble following the law as he does putting together a sentence without a teleprompter. This ban on American energy from Joe Biden not only hurt our energy workers but gave Vladimir Putin an opportunity to expand the market for Russia's natural gas. This was another election year failure from Joe Biden trying to appease his extreme climate base no matter how much it hurts American families."
Washington, D.C. -Moderators in the first Presidential Debate of 2024 failed to ask a single question about American energy independence, giving President Joe Biden a pass on his record. In response, Daniel Turner, Founder and Executive Director for Power The Future, issued the following statement:
"Number one: If the moderators had the courage to ask President Biden about his energy policy, they would see he has no defense. Number two: Americans are paying more because Joe Biden is energy incompetent. Number three: Americans should remember that energy is on the ballot in November, even if biased media moderators don't admit it."
