Governor's Elitist Climate Position Doesn't Help New Mexico

Albuquerque – New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham is celebrating her latest appointment with the U.S. Climate Alliance today. The Governor will serve as co-chair-elect for the organization along with New York Governor Kathy Hochul, who this week signed a law banning gas stoves in new homes. The appointments occur as a recently released poll found both Lujan Grisham and Hochul among the 10 least popular governors in the nation.
“If Governor Lujan Grisham wants to audition for her next job, she could begin by helping New Mexico’s families instead of taking elitist positions that make life harder,” said Larry Behrens, Communications Director for Power The Future. “This is the same organization where Governor Lujan Grisham proudly declared her desire to transition from New Mexico’s energy industry. This is nothing more than another exercise in climate ego, but it will no doubt get her a first class ticket to the next plush junket labeled as a climate conference.”

Albuquerque – Power The Future Communications Director Larry Behrens issued the following statement in response to Martin Heinrich’s announcement he is running for re-election:
“Since his first day in the Senate, Martin Heinrich continues to be ‘all in’ on whatever Chuck Schumer demands. Martin Heinrich is squarely in the pocket of the environmental left and all he’s helped deliver to our families are record gas prices and massive inflation. New Mexicans deserve a real leader who listens to our state and not another empty suit who does the bidding of his partisan allies in Washington.”
PTF: New York's Natural Gas Ban A Kick In The Face To Rural America

Washington, D.C. - New York legislators passed a law banning natural gas stoves in new homes and apartments on Tuesday. According to reports, Governor Kathy Hochul is expected to sign the measure making the Empire State the first in the nation to ban the products. In response, Power The Future Founder and Executive Director Daniel Turner released the following statement:
“This insane mandate is the latest example of how the green movement doesn’t give a damn about working families in rural America. New York’s electrical grid is teetering on the verge of collapse but that doesn’t matter to these clueless politicians who always put their agenda before the people they are supposed to represent. If the electric utopia promised by Governor Hochul and others was truly what people wanted, they wouldn’t need to pass government mandates to make them a reality.”

Legislation Eliminates President Biden’s Natural Gas Tax
Washington, D.C. - The debt ceiling bill passed out of the House of Representatives on Wednesday contains key energy provisions including the elimination of the natural gas tax. The “Limit, Save, Grow” Act repeals many of the worst climate mandates contained in the Inflation Reduction Act that would raise costs on American families. According to the Biden Administration, more than 1 out of 5 American households are already having trouble paying their energy bills.
“Speaker McCarthy and the House Republican caucus deserve tremendous credit for passing this legislation that repeals the harmful natural gas tax,” said Daniel Turner, Founder and Executive Director of Power The Future. "Instead of trying to turn our tanks into EVs, President Biden must stop obstructing and come to the table to address his out-of-control spending that is fueling his failed climate agenda. In divided government, leaders must lead to get results, especially with so many middle-class families struggling. House Republicans have done their jobs, and now President Biden must follow suit.”

Washington, D.C. - With President Joe Biden announcing his campaign for re-election today, Power The Future wants to remind Americans about his energy record over the last 26 months. Some of the lowlights include:
-
The highest gas prices ever experienced in the United States.
-
The worst inflation since the early 1980s.
-
The cancellation of the Keystone XL pipeline leading to high energy costs and the loss of up to 59,000 jobs and nearly $10 billion in revenue.
-
Efforts to cancel gas stoves and the sales of gasoline-powered vehicles.
-
Leasing the fewest acres of land for oil production since Harry Truman.
Lujan Grisham's 'Climate Policy Bureau' Latest Taxpayer Funded Blunder

Albuquerque – Today, the New Mexico Energy, Minerals, and Natural Resources Department proudly announced the creation of a new government agency, the “Climate Policy Bureau.” This new agency will apparently be in addition to the “Climate Change Bureau” at the state Environment Department and the “Climate Change Task Force” formed in by Governor Lujan Grisham in 2019. The Lujan Grisham administration has yet to disclose how much this new agency will cost, or the salaries of the employees.
“The only massive job growth from the green agenda in New Mexico are those funded by the taxpayers,” said Larry Behrens, Communications Director for Power The Future. “Sadly, the only climate impacted by hiring more bureaucrats is the spending climate in Santa Fe. While New Mexico’s families are paying more for gas and groceries, the Lujan Grisham Administration celebrates the growth of government on the backs of taxpayers.”
Supporters of Green New Deal Celebrate Earth Day by Recycling Failure

Washington, D.C. - Four years after the first attempt failed to pass, supporters of the Green New Deal reintroduced the controversial bill just before Earth Day. One of the sponsors of the bill, New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez famously said the world would end in 12 years, despite not bringing the bill in the last Congress when her party held a majority.
“Everyone knows this bill won’t pass, yet it’s being recycled again because supporters believe pathetic political games are more important than results,” said Daniel Turner, Founder and Executive Director of Power The Future. “While America’s families are struggling to make ends meet, politicians are more preoccupied with appeasing the green billionaires to bankroll their reelection campaigns.”
